(English) Marunuma Kogen
A whole new world of powder snow at 2,000 meters above sea level
The highest point of the slopes on the aerial tramway is 2,000 meters above sea level. The resort has an established reputation for a “snow quality as good as that in Hokkaido” and a good snow accumulation. The Karakura slope located on the upper section of the ski area commands an excellent view. You can see Mt. Asama and Mt. Tanigawadake, two of the top 100 great mountains in Japan, representative of the Kanto region. Because of the high location and heavy snow falls in the area, the slopes are frequently covered with new snow. The facilities operate from November to early May each year, which is exceptionally long compared to other ski resorts in Japan. Snow stays long due to the low temperature, which makes the conditions of the slopes perfect most of the time. Thirteen long slopes are laid out with the longest being 4 kilometers for you to ski down.
