(English) Forest of Mizubasho
About 15,000 mizubasho (Japanese skunk cabbage. Rest assured. This plant has no bad smell.) grow in the Forest of Mizubasho, located in the marsh in the state forest in the Koshimoto district of Katashina Village. They start blooming toward the end of April, a little earlier than those in Oze and Oshimizu, to fascinate the tourists. During the Japanese Golden Week (April 29 to May 5) each year, they are illuminated in the evening hours for a more fantastic view. You can take a nice walk, enjoying the atmosphere of Oze (famous for mizubasho), easily without having to go to Oze.
